Area of Intervention Extra Curricullar Activities for Children of Shelter Home Beneficiaries till date 356

Inspired by the unique spirit of street children who participated in Mira Nair’s acclaimed film ‘Salaam Bombay!’, Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) was created in 1989.

Providing an integrated ‘net of services’, SBT helps street children address their developmental goals; facilitating services within a carefully managed environment; optimizing their holistic development. Effected in close proximity to various vulnerable children’s groups, the programs encompass advocacy, counseling – group/individual; educational support – formal/non-formal; school readiness; nutrition; healthcare, medical support; day-care, and night shelter.

As a part of their support to social activities in India, Seth Bhojraj Hassomal Charitable Trust has entered into a partnership with Salaam Baalak Trust to impart training in extracurricular activities like a) Painting, b) Performing Arts- Singing, Theatre, Dance c) Sports- Chess, Yoga, Martial Arts, Football d) Skill Training- Computers & Photography benefiting 220 street children of 3 shelter homes in Mumbai- Andheri, Kandivali & Malad.
