Case Study

01

Pascal was admitted in Jeevan Aanand Sanstha on 20th June 2018 because of a severe leg injury. He used to live on Golibad Road. He mentioned that he has no family or anyone to look after him. After getting information of this person, three members from JAS visited Pascal. They took care of him – bathed, cleaned and dressed and cut his long hair.  Since the patient was in dire need of shelter and more treatment, he was sent to the shelter at Santacruz.

Bhagyarekha Pandare is a senior citizen of 70 years age.  She was found roaming near Ghatkopar station by a person who informed the Ghatkopar police station. After proper due diligence the Police officials handed her over to Jeevan Aanand Sanstha to rehabilitate her.

After admission at JAS, Bhagyarekha was given Psychiatric treatment by Dr. Bharati Patil. During repeated counselling sessions, it was revealed that after her husband’s death she lost her mental health. She had forgotten everything and was not able to recollect even her address. After a long time, she could finally remember that she was living in Santacruz. The JAS field team started searching her address and even visited the Santacruz/Vakola police stations to enquire regarding any missing person complaints.

The Vakola Police station informed them that she was reported missing at their Police station. JAS field coordinators with the help of the Police managed to trace her family and handed her over to them after completing all legal procedures. Bhagyarekha’s family of four daughters and two sons were very happy to get her back after 10 months.

JAS with the support of SBHCT had once again helped in rehabilitating a destitute woman and re-joined her with her family.
