For nearly a century, Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (BJWHC) has been a lifeline for thousands of children and their families. Established in 1926 as India’s first dedicated paediatric hospital, BJWHC has grown into one of the country’s most respected centres for child healthcare, providing specialized treatment to over 1.2 lakh children every year. From advanced neonatal care to complex paediatric surgeries and blood disorders, the hospital continues to ensure that every child receives the best possible chance at a healthy future.
Recognizing the immense financial and emotional challenges faced by families of children suffering from Thalassemia and other serious haematological conditions, the Seth Bhojraj Hassomal Charitable Trust (SBHCT) joined hands with BJWHC under its Bhojraj Arogya Program.
This partnership goes beyond funding treatment. It supports the entire journey of care by covering the cost of essential medicines, investigations, chelation therapy, vaccines, and nursing support for children with Thalassemia. The initiative also funds a dedicated Haematology Social Worker, who becomes a constant source of guidance and support for families—coordinating blood transfusions, arranging blood products, counselling parents, organizing awareness programs, and helping children navigate their long treatment journeys.
Today, this collaboration is touching the lives of more than 240 children and their caregivers every year. By easing the burden of treatment and providing compassionate support, SBHCT and BJWHC are not just managing a medical condition—they are giving children the opportunity to dream, grow, and look forward to a healthier and brighter future.
